Matt Picheny

Founder & CEO

Matt Picheny is a real estate investor, coach, Tony award winner, and author of the #1 best-selling book, Backstage Guide to Real Estate. He is focused on developing passive income streams that enable investors to write their own story and choose how they want to spend their time.

Matt has over 15 years of experience revitalizing and elevating communities through real estate investment and has invested in over 10,000 apartments nationwide. He is a licensed real estate agent and has earned both Commercial Real Estate & Real Estate Finance certificates from Boston University. Matt has been a member of the Forbes Real Estate Council, Fast Company Executive Board, and was named the "Best Multifamily Investment Coach" by the American Apartment Owners Association.

A PMI certified Project Management Professional, Matt is a digital marketing veteran whose 18-year career in the advertising world included working for some of the world’s largest advertising agencies, producing award-winning projects for Fortune 500 clients including Verizon, IBM, and Coca-Cola.

Matt and his wife have two Tony Awards® as co-Producers of the Broadway shows Moulin Rouge! and American Utopia. They have invested in many other theatrical productions including the iconic musicals Hamilton and Wicked

A native of Orlando Florida, and a former actor, Matt still believes in happily ever after. He lives with his wife and their two daughters in Brooklyn, New York and in his downtime enjoys long walks on the beach, great music, and amazing barbecue.

Glenn Grieves

Director Of Operations

Glenn Grieves oversees operations, including the asset management of our portfolio of properties. Before joining Picheny, he served as an Innovation Specialist within the federal government's Technical Transformation Service, overseeing dozens of projects across multiple federal agencies. Glenn was detailed as Acting Director of Account Management at 18F, serving as a member of the agency's senior leadership team.

Prior to his government service, Glenn worked in the private sector as a Project Manager and Certified Scrum Master for top marketing agencies Omnicom and Publicis, as well as entrepreneurial-minded start-ups. He managed projects ranging from website development, experiential installations, and apps, to full-scale omnichannel campaigns across a large swatch of clients, including PepsiCo, Visa, and Proctor and Gamble. Glenn began his career in the New York City nonprofit world working for the Pulitzer Prize winning off-Broadway theater company, MCC Theater. Glenn is the proud recipient of a public arts education and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Marymount Manhattan College with a double major in Theatre Arts: Production and Management and Political Science.

Justin Martinez

Justin is an active multifamily property owner based in Dallas, Texas. For over 10 years his company, Sky Castle Properties, has invested in and managed real estate. Sky Castle’s mission is to help syndicate and lead multi-family property acquisitions with the goal of providing investors safe, secure investments that earn above-average returns. In addition, Sky Castle looks to create a safe and clean apartment living environment for families and individuals.


Sky Castle and Picheny have partnered together on the acquisition and operation of twelve multifamily properties. Four of which have gone full cycle, performing better than initial projections.

Cindy Mirliss

Partner, Kaliser & Associates

In 2015, Cindy joined Kaliser & Associates as Lead Counsel, becoming Partner in 2019. She was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Dallas, Texas with her husband. She attended Boston University for her undergraduate degree and received her Juris Doctorate from Texas A&M University School of Law in 1995. She has worked for several of the largest firms in Dallas, including Baron & Budd, Jones Day, and McKool Smith, as well as in house counsel for Stream Energy. Her career has given her experience in several practice areas including real estate acquisitions, class action litigation, contract and employment law, mergers and acquisitions, family law, and estate planning. In 2015, she joined Kaliser & Associates as Lead Counsel. Cindy’s practice focuses on assisting clients with commercial real estate transactions, private securities fundraising, SEC syndications for multi-family projects as well as other commercial and real estate related projects, and wills and estate planning.

Jim Ross

CPA

Jim is a Partner at a specialized accounting firm called ProVision, based out of Phoenix, AZ. His expertise has helped many investors to achieve better tax efficiency through entity structuring, maximization of deductions, usage of tax elections and special designations, and various tax advantaged investing strategies. ProVision also prepares taxes for small businesses and their owners, including many multi-family real estate partnerships.

James Eng

James is the National Director for Old Capital Lending. Mr. Eng has over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate lending, starting his career as an underwriter at GE Capital Real Estate prior to joining Old Capital in 2015. He has worked with hundreds of investors to help them acquire over $1BN in multifamily properties totaling over 13,000 units nationwide.  James combines his finance, risk, and investor background to find the best loan for clients and to be an indispensable advisor throughout the life cycle of a deal.  Often called “The Professor” of Multifamily Financing, he has produced hundreds of hours of educational multifamily content on YouTube. He received his finance degree from University of Texas at Austin, and now resides in Dallas-Fort Worth with his wife and three boys.
